Appeel by Wheel Line Cider

We are excited to officially introduce our new sub-brand Appeel!

The making of cider creates lots of apple remnant, called pomace. After a few seasons of disposing the excess, we decided to do something about it. In a world where the rate of waste is rising, we had an opportunity to be creative. We cooked up a variety of yummy mixes that elevate every meal, and utilize rich herbs, spices, and our leftovers from pressing apples!

What is Pomace?

When processing our apples-pressing to get out all the juice-the result is essentially a mulch of peel, stems, seeds and pulp waste. So many folks, including us, have also developed fun ways to utilize apple pomace, and several studies have been conducted to evaluate the potential health benefits of it. In many cases, using it for animal feed has proven successful! Some of the health benefits found in studies are that it is a rich source of minerals, fiber, antioxidants, and ursolic acid!

Many think pomace is a great food additive, and we agree!

You might have noticed, but we are obsessed with all things ‘apple,’ and we’ve had so much fun creating the most delicious culinary uses of pomace. Our current products consist of a brine, BBQ rub, a blend of mulling spices, an apple cinnamon citrus tea, and a lemon ginger apple tea. These mixes add a rainbow of rich, rustic flavor to mealtime. At this time, we’ve launched 5 products and plan to release more in the near future! First week of December, these products will be available for online purchase!

The Inspiration

Outside of getting to experiment with flavor, we had a wonderful time developing the branding for this line. Once again, we found ourselves inspired by Arthur Jensen— we wanted to keep Appeel under the umbrella of the Wheel Line Cider brand, so we designed an original font that mimics Arthur’s handwriting!
