Be An Out-Cider

What do we mean by “be an out-cider?” For us, it means that even though we are closed for the season, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy Wheel Line ciders out-cide of the tasting grounds!

Our crisp, slow ciders are served from several retail locations, all over Central Washington,  including Schab’s Bier Den, located in downtown Yakima! While we can’t wait to see your faces in the sweet summer months, in the meantime, we want to encourage and show you where you can experience our ciders away from the airstream–in the best way!

Wheel Line Cider at Bier Den Yakima

Let’s begin our Wheel Line Cider tour by taking a quick trip to historic downtown Yakima, at Schab’s Bier Den. Bier Den may be newer to Yakima’s downtown scene, having only opened their doors in 2019, but their atmosphere and service has become as much a community staple as any long-standing establishment.

Regardless of whether you are a Yakima local, or visiting from afar, a visit to Schab’s Bier Den has you feeling like a local neighbor. Walk inside to soak in the tons of brewery regalia, historic photos, and PNW décor covering their brick walls. A server will immediately greet you with eye contact and a warm smile, walk you through their several tap options and serve you your choice between a refreshing bottle of Leveler cider or 184 Bearings cider (our cider selection at Bier Den is subject to rotation!). The taproom is cozy and casual, but also quite spacious with plenty of seating– settle in at the bar side, sit with friends at a custom-made barrel table, or lounge in the comfy couches near the entrance.

Perhaps sipping on a WLC cider or PNW brew at Bier Den has a “homey” feeling because community is at the center of what they do. “Bier Den” literally translates to “Beer” in English– a fitting name as the taproom was born from a love of beer and a commitment to partner with some of the best beers, ciders, and wines in the PNW, especially from Central Washington (like us!) But, they are more than brews and beverages. Their ultimate mission is to serve their community. Bier Den regularly hosts a variety of events, as they want to celebrate with you, fundraise for you, promote your new business, etc., and all at no charge! They way owners Trena and Zack put it, as a new business in the midst of the pandemic, the community continually supported them and they want to do the same.

Owner, Trena says, “As soon as you step through the door, we want you to feel welcome– almost like walking into a friend's or neighbor’s home or den, no pun intended! During the slow parts of the day, we even encourage people to come in to study or to simply find peace and quiet, with a beer in hand. Our goal is to make you feel comfortable and not just like another number. We love representing Wheel Line Cider because of their mom and pop feel, nice and refreshing ciders, and their location in Kittitas County. It’s so beautiful out there!”

We hope you have so much fun embracing being an out-cider and checking out all of our super cool retail locations. We would love to see how you experience Wheel Line as an out-cider, so please share on social media! Tag us, or use the hashtag #beanoutcider, and we will share it to our page!
