Rodeo City Community Cider Project
Have you always wanted to contribute to the making of beer or wine? How about cider? Now is your chance! Every fall we create a new cider, called Rodeo City Community Cider, from gathered and donated apples.
The name says it all, but we developed the idea as a way for us to collaborate with our community and for the community to engage even further with our tasty product. The way it works is we hold an apple drive every year where Kittitas County residents can come out to our cidery to drop off as many apples as they can spare. Those apples are then used for a new, annual cider. In celebration of this large collaboration, we host a Drop Off Day where we provide tastings, bites, and harvest fun, and we write a $2500 check to a local organization we admire and that aligns with our values. This year, our winner was Kittitas County CattleWomen, an amazing group of ladies that work hard to uplift women in the ag industry and that make beef better in Kittitas County.
The 2023 winner will be announced on our upcoming Drop Off Day, September 11!
If you’re caught up on our monthly blogs, then you know there are specific types of apples that are used for ciders, such as bittersharp and bittersweet, but in the case of our Rodeo City Community Cider, we will take anything from Honeycrisp and Granny Smith to Crab and Gravenstein apples. The coolest thing about this cider is that since the kinds and amount of apples change every year, so does the taste- making this cider extra unique.

A big Thank you always to our amazing friends, neighbors, and customers that make this project possible. We can’t wait to get this cider started!
